Partitura y partes individuales para: cuarteto de cuerda y batería y / o percusión Esta es una pieza enfocada en la batería que escribí para un baterista increíble, Henry Cole, originario de Puerto Rico, que ahora vive en la ciudad de Nueva York. El coquí es el animal más distintivo de la isla de Puerto Rico, una pequeña rana arbórea con un llamado distintivo. La instrumentación para esta pieza es sólo tambores y cuerdas. Las cuerdas tocan pizzicato todo el tiempo. Me divierto como compositor musicalmente, usando la llamada del coquí como motivo musical. El sonido que resulta con tener sólo cuerdas pizzacato y percusión es una reminiscencia de la música folk sudamericana tocada por instrumentos de guitarra o de arpa. -fabian almazan
